Both of our weekend nights in Florence were spent walking around outside, listening to street artists. Our favorite was the English-speaker doing lots of Simon and Garfunkel covers near our hotel at the
Piazza della Signoria. He stood right between the entry path to the
Uffizi and the
Palazzo Vecchio. Go ahead and be jealous. Just like the rest of the crowd, we sat among Renaissance sculptures of the
Loggia dei Lanzi and faced the copy of the David in front of the
Palazzo Vecchio. Our room was so close, we were later lulled to sleep by his finale of "America".
