But if you're read any of the Afghan fiction that has hit American shelves within the past few years (decade? Does that still count as a few?), you'll notice that kite-flying tends to appear. Banned during the Taliban regime, kite flying has long since returned. Kite fighting is a tradition and an art which I've unfortunately only read about, and never had the chance to personally see. When I take the time to look up, I often see one or two floating above me. I should look up a bit more often.
